Len explains how he and his partner founded Nestar to build “sniffers” to diagnose LANs. After it merged with 2 other companies in 1994, Len left Nestar and started teaching computer architecture at Stanford. All the history was gone from the curriculum which troubled Len. He started researching computer history museums in the world to model his on. Only one he found was The Computer Museum (TCM) in Boston,MA which was gradually morphing into a kid’s museum. Yet that wasn’t it’s originally mission. Len met with Gordon Bell in 1996 to agree to move TCM from Boston to Mt View, CA. 18 years later, he’s still the CHM’s leader- Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
