During the Q&A, an audience member asks who else (besides Intel) made the 286 microprocessor? Dave answers that IBM made the 286 for its own internal use, while AMD second sourced the part. He didn’t think anyone else had a legitimate license to make “286 clone chips.”

Shortly after 9pm, Weissberger closes the panel session Q&A (and the evening’s program) by stating: “Our two semiconductor icons will be signing autographs in the parking lot, if you have a chip photo or circuit schematic of Intel’s 1K DRAM for them to sign.”
