Weissberger lets Ted have the last word by describing his relationship with Intel co-founder Gordon Moore. Hoff recounts an early visit to Moore’s office and an IEEE technical meeting where Gordon was a panelist. Moore would hold semiconductor process information very “close to the vest.”
When Moore was asked, “Could you tell us how much Si Nitrate Intel was using in its new semiconductor process,” he replied: “We used just enough to produce the effect we were looking for.” Ted than contrasted that with what Bob Noyce and Andy Grove might have said to answer that question.
Hoff said it was incredible how those three men, with different approaches, worked so well together. The audience was very entertained and laughed heartedly at each of those stories. Weissberger than thanked the two panelists and closed the formal panel session. Q&A followed…..
