2011 Smart Energy Summit Video Coverage

In a nutshell, smart energy is about doing more with the same or less energy, as well as making better use of alternative power sources.  That would be the single sentence description of what was a crash course on the topic of "Smart Energy" at last week's Parks Associates' Smart Energy Summit.  Viodi worked with Parks Associates to provide coverage of this event that featured speakers from all parts of the ecosystem; from power utilities to consumer electronics and all of the pieces in between.  As seen in this series of interviews with industry experts, there are many moving parts to the creation of a more efficient and distributed grid.

With the rapid deployment of smart meters, it is clear that we are moving down the path of adding a bi-directional network layer from power plant to the end-device.  It is also clear that hurdles remain, such as interoperability, before we reach the energy efficiency gains that have been talked about for decades (remember First Pacific Networks).  We will be posting videos over time of this event.  In the meantime, if you have a few hours, you can watch all 30+ videos associated with this event in the above player.
