I forgot that I had seen Joey Durel speak at the 2005 FTTH Conference, when they were just embarking on their FTTH build; talk about perseverance in starting and seeing this project through. What’s interesting is the comparison between Chicago and St. Louis and how the development of railroad infrastructure, according to Durel, propelled Chicago’s growth, as compared to St. Louis which stayed with older canal technology.
