Yin Pao Chen was not a particularly imposing individual. His somewhat slight build betrayed the athletic competitiveness he once had as a high school baseball player in Taiwan. He also was not one to brag about his academic achievements or his business accomplishments. He was simply a man of integrity whose bedrock adherence to principles and believe in his faith were examples for us all.
I cherish the late evenings spent with YP trying to launch a start-up, cable network. Although the network never got off the ground, I learned more about faith from YP and brother-Russ than I ever did in a Church service and maybe that was the real purpose of what we were trying to do.
Although I only spent brief moments with his wife and never met his children, I could tell by the way YP spoke that his family was his life’s priority. Condolences to his family.
Please feel free to add comments about YP and his impact on you.

Donations/Gifts
YP’s family preference is for gifts to be made in memory of “Y.P. Chen” using the link below to the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, instead of flowers. Make sure to please select “stomach/gastric cancer” from the pull-down menu as the area of research we would like to have the donation support. Of all the organs, stomach cancer is definitely one of the more difficult ones to treat, so we hope with more research and in time, the survival rates for this disease will improve.
