The traditional hand-written chalkboard and poster board days could be numbered, at least in some applications, thanks to Bluboard’s cloud-connected display solution. Bluboard’s battery-powered e-paper sign has the distinction of being one of, if not, the first LoRa device that allows bi-directional transmission of data (text, images) over unlicensed frequencies up to 15 miles away.
Its simplicity is what allows it to compete with paper in those applications where traditional LCD screens don’t make sense, either from a power or cost standpoint. Used extensively at the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, these signs allow dynamic changing of messages as needed without staff intervention (e.g. update in one central location and that update is sent to all the appropriate signs in the field).
