Date: October 26, 8:30 to 11:45
Location: Nisswa, MN (in conjunction with the MTA Video Peer Group Convention)
Building upon Viodi’s Local Content Workshop series, the Local Content Roundtable will be a refresher of some of the latest ideas, tips and tools for producing low-cost, high-quality content. There will be plenty of ideas and examples as to how independent telcos can become better producers and facilitators of community content. Expect this to be a very interactive session that will touch upon topics such as:
- Local programming that works and doesn’t break the bank
- Lessons from behind and in front of the camera
- Video production on a shoestring
- Live events – what works, what doesn’t
- Beyond video, print, web, retail – tying it together
- DVDs, production work, ad sales and sponsorship – ideas for monetization
- Getting other people to produce content – leveraging the community
- Working with other businesses & local institutions
- Talent – finding it, getting & keeping it
- Incorporating “Over the Top” and Social Networks as part of a local content strategy
- A content potluck – a way to share
This abbreviated workshop will be a great complement to the outstanding program put together by the MTA’s Video Peer Group. To get an idea of what a previous workshop is like, check out this video filmed by the crew at SCTV 19 (Melrose Telephone).
