2 Years Later – Still Dishing on AT&T


It’s about time, but maybe AT&T will finally heed my advice and buy Echostar/DISH TV.  It looks like the approximately $25 Billion price will be much more than the $15 to $20 Billion they could have purchased it for just 2.5 years ago.  It will be interesting to see what, if any, resistance there will be from regulators.  The big advantage is that with the DISH TV brand under its umbrella, AT&T could reduce or eliminate some of the business barriers of its current DISH TV relationship.   It will also be interesting to see whether the stock market will reward AT&T for such a purchase, as Dish could jump start AT&T’s video efforts.
